I am Colleen Stone, an independent architectural designer working in the industry since 1984. For most of that time, I was a senior designer for large firms doing commercial interiors (totaling more than 3 million square feet of space), specializing in high-end spaces for demanding clients – mostly law firms and corporate headquarters.
In 2001 I had the opportunity to break away from the corporate mill and start Stone House, my own design firm, specializing in residential work. I am not a decorator or an interior designer; my work involves redesigning and building spaces that fit your family and your lifestyle.
Early on, I discovered that most clients don’t expect that they can get a unique, custom designed space that fits them and their lifestyle. Most don’t understand what the possibilities are or how to articulate a creative solution. That’s where I can help, and my belief is that it’s your home and it should feel like it. So I developed a process that guarantees that result. Stone House is a small firm. I do all the work, which means you get 29 years of experience working on every detail of your project, and I don’t settle until it’s right.
