For this project, we started by developing a master plan and divided the construction into two phases, separated by three years. In the first phase, we added a second story and front porch to a small, stand-alone one-story house, which increased living space for a growing family.  In the second phase, we blew out the back wall of the house and doubled the size of the kitchen with an eye for entertaining the client’s extended family.

The new open kitchen and large eating area allows for casual meals and family entertaining. The bulk of the storage areas are below counter to keep the atmosphere light and open. We also built a small bar area and breakfast counter inside and a screened-in porch and grilling area behind the house. This house is now an entertainer’s dream with lots of versatile spaces for groups large and small, formal and casual.
